3 Fremont County residents elude police in stolen vehicle
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Wednesday, October 23rd, 2019 we shared a post on our Facebook page alerting folks to a driver eluding law enforcement and running vehicles off of Rendezvous Road. According to the Riverton Police Department (RPD), the driver began eluding law enforcement in Riverton and this incident eventually led to the arrest of three Fremont County residents.
RPD shared, a truck had been reported stolen and was spotted eastbound on the 2000 block of West Main Street in Riverton at around 11:00 am on the 23rd.
Responding officers observed the driver pull the vehicle into the Public Works parking lot on Monroe and the officer initiated a traffic stop. The driver allegedly proceeded “through the parking lot and impacted with a chain-link fence.” This reportedly caused damage to several parked vehicles in the lot. “The suspect vehicle fled the scene and was later stopped on Little Shield Road,” shared RPD.

Scanner traffic indicated there was property damage to residences near Little Shield Road as well. RPD could not confirm that information as the Wind River Police Department took over.

No injuries were reported in this incident. The total amount of property damage has not been confirmed.
