Big Horn County Montana Sheriff’s are confirming they have located the body of missing Montana teenager Selena Not Afraid, approximately three quarters of a mile away from the rest area she was last seen at.

A press release from the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Department indicated that foul play is not suspected.

Not Afraid had been missing since January 1st, 2020. She was last seen on at a rest area on Interstate 90 between Hardin and Billings. She had apparently left a disabled vehicle and been seen on foot near a field by the rest area.

In the days and weeks after she went missing, a search of the area near the rest stop was conducted with drones, horseback, ATV, and on foot.

On January 9th, Wyoming Indian basketball teams welcomed Lodge Grass, Montana girls and boys teams to Ethete. The teams wore #HopeForSal t-shirts, honoring the girl who was, at that time, still missing.

More details about the Not Afraid death can be found from the Billings Gazette.
