County 10 congratulates the Shoshoni Wranglers for being our first ever Mascot Challenge Champion!

We’ve worked through the week to confirm the enormous amount of votes, received by a community of nearly 700 people and a school with an enrollment of just over 100, were legit. And, with the chance of a few repeat votes (which was allowed) the numbers are legit.

There were over 31,000 votes in the championship round match-up of Shoshoni Vs. Riverton’s Wolverines. Ultimately, the Wranglers ran away with an incredible 95% of the vote.

Shoshoni fans were incredible throughout the challenge , collecting the most votes each round. They won the initial round of voting for 12 different Fremont County mascots with the most votes and received the number one seed into our bracket round of 8 teams. There, the edged Central Wyoming College’s Rustlers with 54% of the vote in the head-to-head match-up. In the Final 4, they rallied past the Wind River Cougars by getting 71% of the vote.

As school resumes, or in the near future, the County 10 staff will present the first ever championship plaque to Shoshoni’s Wranglers.

Gale’s Carpet One in Riverton and Altitude Interiors in Lander made this challenge possible! Thank you to everyone for participating in the fun!
