On Saturday, February 29th, at approximately 6:30 pm, local law enforcement and emergency responders were dispatched to a reported wreck near Boysen Dam at the mouth of the Wind River Canyon on US 20.
According to Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP), a “large rock fell from the hillside to the east” in front of a northbound vehicle. Unable to avoid the rock, the driver struck it head-on and then struck the guardrail.
“Upon hitting the guardrail, the vehicle was flipped onto the passenger side and slide about 50 feet before coming to rest in the middle of the road,” WHP reported.
Both the driver and passenger were wearing their seatbelts. The driver was uninjured, and the passenger sustained minor cuts to their hand.
