FCSD #1 rolled out law enforcement laptops today
Fremont County School District #1 purchased designated law enforcement laptops for each of the schools in their district as part of a safety and security initiative. The laptops rolled out today, October 30th, and allow local law enforcement the flexibility to work in the schools.
FCSD #1 Business Manager Travis Sweeney shared this project has been in the works for several months to make sure the laptops met the security and compliance requirements. “Instead of having to go back to their office to work on reports or input information, they can come into our schools and be more visible to the students, staff and general public,” Travis said.
There is no set schedule for the laptop use so local officers can stop by randomly throughout the day. Lander Police Department Chief Shroyer shared, these laptops provide more opportunity for students to build a relationship with the officers and provide parents a little more peace of mind knowing there are extra officers in the schools at any given time.
Travis and Superintendent Dr. Dave Barker presented a laptop to the Lander Police Department and Fremont County Sheriff’s Office at Baldwin Creek Elementary this morning.
