High school basketball season begins this weekend in Fremont County; Tournament in Riverton
It’s the dawn of a new high school basketball season!
Last year, County 10 was home to three state champs – Wyoming Indian’s boys and girls and the Lander boys.
The county that’s known across the state for good basketball gets going this weekend with most teams in action and a tournament happening in Riverton.
The Riverton Lady Wolverines are hosting the Strannigan Classic at RHS and RMS Thursday through Saturday. Riverton will participate along with teams from; Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne South, Cheyenne East, Green River, Rock Springs, Natrona County, Kelly Walsh, Jackson, and Sheridan.
The Riverton boys are on the road to a Casper tournament with the same schools participating there.
The defending 3A boys champion Lander Tigers are headed to the East-West Classic Friday and Saturday in Lovell, while the Lander Lady Tigers go to the East-West Classic in Buffalo.
