Riverton Mayor Richard Gard has been in the community since he was 3, that’s 61 years… not that we’re counting.

“Riverton needed some help” he told us on the County 10 Podcast. “Riverton doesn’t go forward without a push and thank goodness we have people that really care about Riverton and appreciate living in Riverton. It has a lot of good attributes.”

The Mayor credited the City of Riverton staff and Riverton City Council, as well as various community members with helping that shift in positive momentum.

Gard encouraged citizens to participate in city events, to join a committee, even to run for political office if they think they can help make a positive difference. The Mayor said that’s his favorite part of the job. “When you can help somebody. That’s when you feel like it’s worth it’s effort. When someone comes in and you’re able to direct them to where they can find help and make changes.”
