A series to share #smiles across our community through the achievements of our local youth, brought to you by Rendezvous Dental.

Regional wrestling tournaments were held across the state this weekend, and Fremont County boasts the 2A West regional champion Shoshoni Wranglers.

Wind River High School in Pavillion played host to the 2A West regional event this year.

Shoshoni scored 161 total points. Pehton Truempler won an individual championship in the 138 lb class and Tryston Truempler won the 152 lb class.

Thermopolis finished 2nd at 134.5 points, Greybull-Riverside took third. Wind RIver placed 8th overall, Dubois was 10th, and Wyoming Indian took 11th.

Star Valley claimed the 3A West regional title at Mountain View High School, with Powell finishing 2nd and Cody coming in 3rd. Riverton placed 5th overall and Lander took 8th.

RHS’ Ridge Briggs took the 145 lb championship. LVHS’ Jack Sweeney won the 170lb class.

Elsewhere, Green River won the 4A west, Cheyenne East won the 4A east, Douglas placed first at the 3A East regional, and Moorcroft won the 2A east.

State championship wrestling is set for February 27-29 in Casper.  Details and brackets can be found here.
