Sporadic cases of influenza A and B found in Fremont County
Public Health Nurse Becky Parkins shared her office’s monthly update at the Fremont County Commissioners’ meeting today, December 17th, 2019.
A reported 239 people visited both the Lander and Riverton offices during the month of November. As well as, 230 offsite visits.
Becky also shared they have about 60 regular doses of the flu vaccine left for this year. The few high dose flu vaccines they received for folks 65 and older are all gone.
The state reports there have been sporadic cases of influenza A and B in the state and county. However, the flu activity is increasing. There are several influenza type illnesses out there and often doctors treat those cases as influenza without testing, Becky explained. Making the exact numbers difficult to know.
