Wind River Tribal Court Judge facing removal

Wind River Tribal Court Chief Judge Sara Robinson is facing removal based on two allegations of ‘neglect of duty or gross misconduct.’ “The allegations in this instance haven’t yet been disclosed, pending completion of the tribal inquiry,” a Northern Arapaho Business Council (NABC) spokesperson shared.

After an Intertribal Council vote on November 25th, Robinson was suspended. She was provided the opportunity to share any other evidence and counter the allegations at a hearing held on Monday, December 16th. The NABC spokesperson shared there was no decision made during Monday’s hearing, and believes the next step in the case is “a decision issued by the Intertribal Council.” No date has been set for the decision.

Robinson was sworn in this past summer after her predecessor Terri Smith resigned due to felony charges involving drugs. Smith’s sentencing is scheduled for February 18th, 2020.

County 10 has reached out to the Eastern Shoshone Tribal Council about this case and has not heard back.
