#WyoStrong stories, brought to you by Wyoming Community Bank, highlight Wyoming perseverance, ingenuity, creativity and resilience.

Kemmerer, Wyoming 2nd grader Zoey recently decided that her stuffed animal collection was out of control. There were simply too many animals for one girl to take care of.

Zoey learned that the Wyoming Highway Patrol accepts stuffed animals for their troopers to give to children who may have been involved in emergencies to help them cope with the situation. She quickly decided, that’s where her overflow of animals needed to go.

She wrote a letter about her idea and gave it, along with a huge trash bag full of stuffed animals to her local WHP office.

“At first I did not know what to do with them, but then I thought I could give them to the Highway Patrol so if someone got in a car accident, they might feel a little better” Zoey wrote. “I really do hope that you like my idea.”

The Highway Patrol liked her idea and posted on their Facebook page, “Zoey’s action embodies the word humility. She was willing to give up something that meant a lot to her at some point to help someone else in a time of need. Humility is one of eight WHP core values, and Zoey sets a great example of it. Zoey’s kindness will be sure to bring comfort to someone.”
